Hunterdon County Chamber of Commerce

The Hunterdon County Chamber of Commerce is a dynamic business organization, “in the business of promoting business.” However, their web site did not accurately reflect the quality of services they offer. They asked PageHealer to heal their site.

We first met with the Chamber’s Tech Committee to discuss how the Chamber web site could better serve the organization’s members. We pinpointed the following major goals:

• Online event registration with secure payment options
• Online membership subscription and renewal
• Easier access to upcoming event information
• More options for searching the membership database
• Ability for Chamber staff to edit the web site by themselves
• Better organization of content

The new design pairs all of this functionality with a clean, easy-to-navigate appearance that looks professional, while at the same time appearing friendly and approachable – just like the Chamber itself.

Its relatively simple appearance belies the complexity of the database that powers it, which we built to facilitate several new features:

• “Events at a glance” menu that shows the next 3 Chamber events, with links to more information. With one click, Chamber staff can set up a shopping cart for any event so Chamber members can securely pay online.
• Optional update banner. With one click, Chamber staff can turn on an eye-catching message at the top of every page throughout the site, to highlight an important announcement or event.
• “Find a business” in the Members section allows you to search all Chamber members by business type or keyword, or view a complete listing.
• Upload features which allow the Chamber staff to upload forms and documents, which instantly appear on the web site
