Why PageHealer?
A note from Emily Holmes, PageHealer's art director:
I've been working as a designer for over a decade. During that
time, I've worked for agencies that have designed some of the largest
and most expensive sites on the web.
Although working on big-name sites was a thrill, I was always surprised
to see that the design process at the big agencies was haphazard
at best. The designers would select catchy (and expensive) images,
pretty colors, and stick them together into a concept to present
to the client. I was always amazed at the process, the price tag,
and the fact that so many important questions were never posed to
the clients. How could designers possibly create an effective design,
when they didn't understand what the site needed to do?
I co-founded PageHealer in 2000 because I know that good design
comes from the inside out. The idea behind PageHealer is that a
website needs to be designed around its intended purpose. The best
sites are those which are mapped out carefully, then designed accordingly.
At PageHealer, we plan out what your site's structure is going
to look like long before we choose colors and photos. We ask important
questions, like:
- What is the main purpose of your website?
- What do you want users to accomplish before leaving your site?
- What's your most critical content?
- How do you want people to perceive your company?
... and many more. Believe it or not, these are the types of questions
that the other agencies may never bother to ask. We consider all
of your answers, map out the structure of the site, and complete
an information design phase before we ever mention colors and pictures.
Our process works. Take a look at our case studies for examples
of how our thoughtful, deliberate approach has helped others. Then
contact us for a site that is carefully crafted and effectively
designed.
